How to Make a Vision Board

"If you have trouble seeing your goals, use pictures, images, and symbols you collect to keep your conscious and subconscious mind focused on your goals."
- Jack Canfield

What you need to create a successful vision board:

1. Do not be in a hurry. It takes great patience to go through piles and piles of magazines!
2. A huge pile of magazines.
3. Scissors, endless cups of tea and a glue stick or two.
4. Clarity. It's no good just cutting out pictures of the things you want. You need to know what you expect those things to bring you. The funny thing is when you boil everything you ever want down to its essence, all any of us really want is to be happy. Deliriously, gently, deeply, lastingly happy. So get really clear. What does happy look like for you?

What do you want to create in your life?

5. Time. Cut out pictures, words and phrases that you like and then leave them for awhile. Come back to them and sift through the pile. Take some away. Go away again. Find another magazine and cut it up. Send away for catalogues. Look at the pictures: would that be what happiness looked like to you? Make collages of things that you want and live with them for awhile. (Like vision boards in training!)
6. When you have some pictures that you know are just right, start making your vision board. Play with it. Enjoy it.
7. When it is finished, put it somewhere where you can see it every day.
8. Practice paying attention. Be aware of appreciation. Be grateful. (...and keep clipping things out! Sometimes all you need is one picture for the a-ha moment!)
9. Repeat as necessary.

(I'll show you mine if you show me yours!)

There is no such thing as coincidence right? I've had the materials for my vision board for a year now and haven't started it. I smiled when I saw your new post title on my blogroll. Thanks for posting it. Post yours!

Hello Megg,

I think you visited me but i was unable to follow your profile to a blog. Imagine how lovingly surprised I was to see your name as a bloggy link on another beauties blog - yay!

I've never made a vision board, though I've seen others discuss them on their blogs. I have to say your #4 really jumped out at me. This makes absolute sense, and I may attempt my own board.

Enjoy this beautiful Monday,
love,
me

PS
if it was not you who visited but another Megg, with two g's no less, I find it all the more fortuitous!

:-)

Hi lovely! I didn't realize you'd be one of the bloggers at Susannah's girly get-together. How very cool. It sounds like it was an amazing day.

Hi Megg ... Marina from Australia here again ... since I still don't have a blog, I have to click anonymous, sorry!
Anyway, I did my vision board about a year ago, one for my personal health and goals and one for my general goals. If I can find a way to post them to you, you can have a gander... they were so much fun and I have been collecting more mags and pics to do another one. I always learn so much about myself and my goals when I do this. I did a similar thing with a scrapbook about 10 years ago, you know, just cut out any pics and words that jumped out at me and stuck them all in a scrapbook. I learned so much about myself, that I could never really pinpoint before.
I love yours by the way, so lovely.
I've only learned recently that I am a very visual learner. I love to sing, but I can't memorize words just by listening to the song... I need to read the words as the song is played a number of times. And tho I love the idea of keeping a written journal ... I just don't do it regularly... but I love words and I love cutting and pasting gorgeous pics... so I love vision boards or books!!!
O ... and those vision boards DO work! ... sometimes in subtle ways, sometimes in obvious ways and sometimes I think we subconsciously strive to reach those goals as well, which is a good thing!
Ok... I'll stop now :)

Some may feel squeamish about eating it, but rabbit has a fan base that grows as cooks discover how easy they are to raise — and how good the meat tastes.
