Sunday Scribblings

I'm finally doing a Sunday Scribbling. This week's topic is 'Google Magic.' I'm kind of ashamed to admit to you all that I am a Google addict. I am Google mad. A while ago I wrote a Sunday Scribblings post about Googling exes. I admit that I don't Google people very often, but I do Google just about everything else.

I live in two places. One is the middle of nowhere and the other is a fantasy land where I have enough money to buy whatever I want. In the last week I have used Google to look for the perfect: boots, scents, flower delivery, and flights, books of poetry, silver jewellery-making courses, and much MUCH more. I have also looked up recipes, song lyrics, quotations using the word 'audacious,' Laini's name to see if I could buy her book in the UK, what houses look like north of Lakefield, Ontario (for my book) and most recently I Googled 'Sunday Scribblings.' (It is mentioned 313,000 times!!!!!)

And so for my own health and that of my relationship I will not be doing any more Googling in the next 24 hours. But I am under no illusions that I won't be participating in my addiction again soon. I think I need help.

i had a meeting with my supervisor once and mentioned i had "googled" someone. she didn't understand what that meant and it made for an awkward silence until i realized i needed to explain myself. she thought it meant something far more naughty, but it made for a great laugh!

Oh yes, googling people, I have done that many times, too, and gotten some very interesting results! All I can say is I don't know how we ever did carry out research without google and the internet. Although I spent the first 25 years of my life WITHOUT computers, just imagine!

Fellow Google addict here...I often Google ex-boyfriends, ex-best friends, ex-bosses, just to see what's going on. And I use it to find out more about anything...it's a fabulous tool for the idly curious.

How did we all live without Google and the Net?

Clever post, Megg. I use Google mostly to look up work-related info, check an exact song phrase or quote, etc. - although I will admit to Googling an ex-boyfriend. Just curious to see what continent he was on. :)

I missed this Sunday Scribbling, bugger! But I am just as much of an addict.

I also want to say that I had an incredibly busy past few days and wasn't able to visit, but now that I have I had three posts to catch up on, and they all spoke right to me. You are so on in my book when you say you know exactly what you need to do--listen, and write.. and life is beautiful! I needed to hear that! Thanks, Megg.

I have to admit to an occasional google addiction too. Why have a computer if you can't google?

Hi, I was checking out the site sunday scribblings and would like to join. I tried to make a permalink from PT's code but I don't think it worked. Could you send me the code and explain how it works?
Thanks, http://beloveddreamer.blogspot.com/
