"There was a time when humanity recognized itself as part of nature, and nature as part of itself. Dreaming and waking were inseparable realities; the natural and the supernatural merged and blended." - Ted Andrews

The last thing I did before going to bed last night was ask for some guidance. I don't very often remember my dreams so when I ask for help it is always with the worry that help will come and I won't remember it.

Last night I did dream. The dream was long and complicated and a lot of it is fuzzy but I remember that there were dolphins in it. The reason I remember the dream is because at the end of it I was swimming up to the surface but I couldn't get there fast enough and I woke up gasping for air. I looked up dolphins in my animal totem book and this is what it says at the end:

If dolphin has shown up as a totem, ask yourself some important questions. What are your words and thoughts creating for you? If unsure, when dolphin arises, you will soon discover. Are you getting outside and enjoying the fresh air? Are you holding in tensions? Are others? When dolphin shows up it is time to breathe some new life into yourself. Get out, play, explore and most of all breathe. - Animal Speak by Ted Andrews

Before I went to Canada I was outside every day and was working very consciously on my breathing. I felt better than I have in a long time. Since Canada I have been very stressed about some things and I have not been outside and I have been completely unconscious of my breathing.

Then this morning I opened a magazine and read this:

"How much more exciting will life become if we trust the unknown and let our lives unfold magically. I have a suspicion that when we trust the unknown our lives will progress perfectly; as if our very faith in a field of benevolent intelligence will open us up to receive the good." - Dr. Sibis Mouton

So there it is. My answers: Remember to breathe. Get outside. Play. Explore. Breathe new life into yourself. Trust the unknown.

Thank you.

That's really interesting stuff about dolphins. I actually had a dolphin dream a few weeks ago, and I wrote it down, but didn't work with it. Considering the nice weather we're having, I'm not spending enough time outdoors either. OK. Thanks for the reminder.

That's wild. I just read a piece on Poz Vibes about how the number of dolphins out in the world is increasing. Maybe new life is being breathed into the world and into you.

And my, oh, my, oh, my, your Laini invitations are just the BEST. You look beautiful and radiant and the pair of you are magical.

Animal Speak is such a great reference- I have it and turned to it to answers about seeing a rat in my dreams. Yeah, dolphin for you and a rat for me. ;)
Thanks for posting this, it made me remember to breathe...

I use the Medicine Cards (Carson and Sams) and they say "This can be a time when you are to link with Great Spirit and bring answers to your own questions or to those of others. In addition this can be a time of communication with the rhythms of nature... be mindful of our body rhythms....Imitate dolphin and ride the waves of laughter... Breathe and experience the manna so freely given.

Sounds like a powerful dream

Very cool. I had a dream about a frog. Does your book say anything about frogs?

By the looks of it, you are receiving guidance in all kinds of wonderful ways. :)

How interesting...whenever I am feeling the way you are right now, I get very vivid dreams almost always involving water...lakes, rivers, oceans, and oddly, even waterslides! Water seems to be a symbol relating to emotion. You were gasping for air...perhaps you are drowning in too much emotional energy and not enough fun!

Your answers are full of lightness and simplicity. Can I borrow them too?

I think it is our nature to want to know what's next...and that learning to go with the flow, can be really hard for some of us.

I know I'm still working on it.:)

I certainly notice I am breathing more shallowly and am tense when I am holding on to some future event or expectation. I think you are asking good questions in order to find the 'answer'.

The animal totem sounds fascinating.

ahhh...deeeep breath. thank you for reminding me. and i love that quote by dr. sibis mouton. that's something i can relate to and think about often. of course, sometimes it is hard to let things unfold magically. we want to be the controllers of everything. my mantra lately has been to let go and let the universe take care of the details. i still haven't perfected it (not even close!), but i still keep trying to do it anyway.

i miss you meg and have been thinking about you LOTS!
